Project Details
ESDP assisted in the refurbishment and repurposing of the Museum’s former admissions building as the Museum Conference & Learning Centre. The newly refurbished learning space provides two new classrooms, a landing area and a gift shop, as well as providing a dedicated entrance and exit point for school and colleges.
ESDP completed full design duties including:
Mechanical Services
Replacement of the existing boiler plant, modification and extension of existing heating circuit pipework to serve new radiators and fan convector heaters respectively.
New mechanical heat recovery ventilation to the teaching spaces and the café comprising 3 no. ceiling void mounted MVHR units and local extract ventilation for the kitchen and toilets.
Provision of climate control within the teaching rooms using ceiling mounted internal units connected to inverter driven heat pumps.
New domestic hot and cold water services to feed the new toilets, kitchen, teaching rooms and existing retained domestic water services.
Electrical Services
Upgrading of the existing Electrical Panel with feeds to new distribution boards and final circuits.
New energy efficient lighting, incorporating day light dimming, emergency lighting with manual switching and PIR control.
New small power, structured cabling, containment and data outlets.
Alterations and extension of the existing fire alarm system.
New security installation including intruder alarm, door access control and CCTV systems.
Disabled access call systems and hearing induction loops.
