St Matthias Church PCC

The project comprised the remodelling of the existing church to make it more flexible and attractive for local community groups. The main focus was on removal of the pews to provide flexible seating, addition of kitchen and servery area to the west end, alterations to the entrances to make the church more welcoming, and major remodelling of the external pathways and hard standing areas to make the church more accessible.

The mechanical services comprised alterations to the existing heating including removal of radiators behind pews and replacement with fan assisted floor trench heaters to provide greater flexibility in the use of the floor space. The heating provision to the entrance areas was also upgraded in conjunction with the architectural changes to these areas. New time and temperature control systems were provided to ensure simple and energy efficient control of the central heating. New domestic water services were also provided the to the kitchen area.

Electrical services included new external amenity and façade lighting to the remodelled main entrance, internal lighting alterations and enhancements, LV Distribution improvements, small power provision to the remodelled areas along with introduction of access control to the entrance points, new heating equipment control wiring and data cabling.
